Engaging Neighbors in Crime Prevention

Cipolletti is the small town where I was born and raised. Today I am part of a group of professional volunteers who have come together in order to make Cipolletti a safer city. We try our best to represent the voices and the needs of the local community by engaging with them through educational events. My role has been to develop a comprehensive dissemination strategy in order to reach citizens with our advice as we understand that the best way to reduce crime is through prevention.

Some topics that we address in the form of advice are: Vehicle theft, vehicle theft at traffic lights, outbursts, virtual kidnapping, telephone fraud, prevention of the use of Facebook especially teenagers, the importance of filing the complaint with the police, and prevention of home crime.

I have worked with COSECI as a volunteer since 2013.
